The ’70s Maverick, Reborn: PAF-Sized CuNiFe Wide Range Humbucker
Back in the 1970s, Fender threw a massive curveball into the humbucker scene. Designed by the legendary Seth Lover, the original Wide Range pickup was built to deliver fat, double-coil meat without sacrificing that iconic, glass-shattering Fender chime.
But there was a catch: those vintage units were massive, requiring custom routing that ruined standard guitars.
Not anymore. This is our custom, hot-rodded take on that ’70s cult classic—painstakingly redesigned to fit directly into a standard PAF-sized humbucker route. It’s the ultimate love child of a classic humbucker and a high-performance Strat pickup.
The Magic is in the Magnetics
Unlike standard humbuckers that rely on a slab-like bar magnet underneath the coils, this beast uses genuine CuNiFe (Copper-Nickel-Iron) threaded pole pieces. Yes, the actual screws are the magnets.
