Hi, I’m Marc — the bloke behind Mojo Pickups.
I’ve been obsessed with guitars for nearly forty years. That obsession naturally led me down the rabbit hole of tone, magnets, wire gauges and, eventually, pickup winding. What started as fettling and fixing my own gear slowly turned into something much bigger.
I’ve been making and repairing guitar pickups for many years, but in 2010 a change in circumstances gave me the push (and the chance) to turn it into my full-time job. Mojo Pickups is very much a one-man operation. I’m the only employee, which means I handle everything — from sourcing the parts and winding the coils, right through to packing orders and the daily trip to the post office.
Every pickup is made one at a time, the old-fashioned way. No shortcuts, no production lines — just careful work, attention to detail, and a genuine love for what I do. It’s about getting the small things right, because that’s where the tone lives.
If you’re looking for a hand-wound custom pickup, or just some honest advice, you’ll be talking directly to the person who will actually wind your pickup. No sales scripts, no middlemen — just a straight conversation about what you play, how you play, and the sound you’re chasing.
The result is something made specifically for you, to your requirements, and at a price that stands up very well against the big mass-produced box shifters. Only this way, it’s personal — and it sounds better for it.
