52 Style Telecaster Pickup Set

Hand Wound / Scatter Wound to Vintage Specification

Built to capture the unmistakable snap, clarity, and warmth of an early ’50s Tele, this 52 style Telecaster pickup set is hand wound and scatter wound to true vintage spec, using period-correct materials and construction throughout.

The bridge pickup is wound with 42 AWG wire for classic bite, tight low end, and that unmistakable Tele twang, while the neck pickup uses 43 AWG wire, delivering smooth highs, articulate mids, and a warm, rounded response. Both pickups feature non-staggered Alnico 5 magnets with vintage-spaced pole pieces, ensuring authentic string-to-string balance and a faithful early-’50s feel.

Each coil is finished with a white string wrap, protecting the windings just as the originals were built. The bridge pickup is fitted with a UK-made copper-plated steel baseplate, manufactured to the correct 1.2mm vintage thickness for enhanced snap, punch, and harmonic content.

Punched Flatwork for the bobbins, just like the old one, mine aren’t laser cut.

Period-correct cloth-covered hook-up wire completes the build, making this set ideal for restorations, vintage-inspired builds, or players chasing true blackguard-era tone.
