Hand-Wound Esquire Bridge Pickup

Simple, loud, and full of attitude — just like an Esquire should be.

This is a hand-wound, scatter-wound Esquire bridge pickup, built the old-school way with the option of a classic vintage wind or a hotter modern one. No shortcuts, no gimmicks — just great materials and careful winding to get the most tone possible out of a single pickup.

What’s under the hood

• Hand-wound / scatter wound (each one is a little different — that’s the point)

• 43 AWG wire for that familiar bite and clarity

• Flush (non-staggered) Alnico 3 magnets for even string balance

• Vintage pole spacing

• Punched flatwork (not laser cut), just like the old ones

• Black string wrap to keep the coil safe and stable

• UK-made zinc-plated baseplate, correct 1.5mm thickness — slightly thicker than a standard Tele base for a bit more punch

• Cloth-covered pushback wire for easy installs and vintage vibes

Choose your flavour

Vintage Spec – ~8K
Bright, punchy, and super responsive. Loads of attack, plenty of twang, and that unmistakable Tele/Esquire snap. Cleans sparkle, dirt bites back. If you want classic, this is it.

Modern Spec – ~12K
Thicker, louder, and more mid-focused. Still clear, but with more weight and drive. Perfect if your guitar is on the bright side or you just want a fuller sound without losing definition.

The vibe

This pickup really shines when you play the guitar instead of fighting it. Pick lighter and it snaps, dig in and it growls. Roll the volume back, crank it up — it all works. Exactly what an Esquire pickup should do.
