Description

’51 Flat Pole P-Bass Single Coil

The Pickup That Started a Revolution.

From its ground-breaking introduction in 1951, the Precision Bass® didn’t just join the party—it redefined the entire landscape of the low end. It gave bassists a unique look, a new feel, and a tone that shook the world.

At Mojo Pickups, our P-Bass range is dedicated to capturing that lightning in a bottle. Whether you’re looking for the original ‘Tele-style’ single coil or the later split-coil humbuckers, we build them to respect the heritage while delivering the performance modern players demand.

Vintage Soul. Modern Authority.

The ’51 Flat Pole P Single Coil is a painstakingly accurate reproduction of the very first Precision pickup. Using our own vintage-correct fibreboard flatwork and hand-selected Alnico V magnets, this is more than a replacement part—it’s a time machine.

The coil is scatter-wound with 42AWG plain enamel wire, resulting in a dynamic, touch-sensitive feel and an extended frequency response that only a true single coil can provide.

  • The Lows: Solid, punchy, and incredibly focused.

  • The Mids & Highs: Crisp and articulate, designed to cut through the densest mix with a mature, authoritative growl.

Boutique Craftsmanship

True to the 1951 blueprint, the coil is elegantly string-wrapped for protection and aesthetic authenticity. We use vintage-correct yellow and black cloth ‘push-back’ hookup wire to ensure your control cavity looks as good as the bass sounds.
