Description
This set is built from a deep obsession with Pre-CBS Fender tone. Since 2011, my work has focused on one thing: recreating vintage pickups with absolute accuracy. Every detail here is informed by original examples from my personal collection and from rare vintage sets I’ve had the privilege to study and play.
Each pickup is hand-wound using a true scatter-wind to period-correct specifications. The coils are wound with 42awg Heavy Formvar wire, faithfully cloned and colour-matched to original Pre-CBS stock.
Magnets are vintage-correct 0.195″ Alnico 5, bevelled in-house for the proper magnetic field and response. Flatwork is traditionally punched—not laser cut—and the bobbins feature rounded edges and a nitrocellulose lacquer dip, replicating original manufacturing methods.
DC resistance is balanced for authentic output and feel:
Neck 5.4K, Middle 5.6K, Bridge 6K ohms.
Pickups are lightly wax potted in a Black Bee and paraffin blend to control microphonics while preserving clarity and harmonic detail. Finished with period-correct cloth-covered hookup wire.
Each set includes covers and mounting screws—built with no concessions, and voiced for players who demand true vintage character.
