If you love the look of a Filtertron® but crave the crystalline high-end and “plucky” response of a classic California single-coil, the Mojotron® Hybrid Single-Coil is your perfect match. Built specifically to fit La Cabronita® style routes, this pickup swaps out the traditional bar magnet for Fender-style Alnico 5 rod magnets, delivering a voice that is exceptionally bright, articulate, and harmonically rich.
The Best of Both Worlds
Most Filtertron-sized pickups are humbuckers, but this is a true high-performance single-coil. By using individual Alnico 5 rod magnets, we’ve shifted the tonal profile away from the “growl” of a standard Tron and toward the “chime and sparkle” of a premium S-style or T-style pickup.
Wound with 42AWG wire, the Mojotron® Single-Coil offers a tactile, sensitive response that cleans up beautifully but has enough “bite” to cut through any dense mix.
