Raw Construction, Pure Tone

True to the original manufacturing method, these pickups are built without a bobbin. We wind the 42AWG wire directly around a custom-made Alnico 6 bar magnet—exactly like the vintage units. The coil is then taped and housed in a sleek, 70mm nickel-plated cover.

The result? A directness and transparency that you simply cannot get from a traditional bobbin-based pickup. It’s that signature percussive snap and shimmering top-end that made the original “Lipsticks” famous.

Modern Versatility: The Split

While the originals were often a “one-trick pony,” we’ve brought them into the 21st century. These are wired with 4-conductor hook-up wire as standard.

With a neck output of 7K and a bridge of 8K, they offer plenty of punch. However, when you engage the coil split, you drop down to a glassy 3.5K (Neck) and 4K (Bridge)—perfect for those thin, wiry surf tones and garage rock textures.
