The Bigsby Replica: A Tribute to a Pioneer
Heritage design. UK engineering. Pure, vintage soul.
I’ve been obsessed with the work of Paul A. Bigsby for years. As a pioneer of the electric guitar and a visionary engineer, his designs set the blueprint for the instruments we love today. After a long road of development and custom tooling, I’ve finally had the parts made to bring these replicas to life.
These aren’t your off-the-shelf mass-produced coils. These are a labour of love, built right here in the UK to honour the legacy of a true innovator.
The Tone
These pickups are wound with a thicker gauge wire than your “standard” pickup. This results in a lower DC resistance (Neck 3.8k / Bridge 4.2K), providing a clear, hi-fi transparency and a dynamic touch sensitivity that allows your amp to breathe. If you’re looking for that authentic, woody, mid-century chime, you’ve found it.
The Build
We don’t cut corners. Every component is chosen for its tonal property and structural integrity:
-
UK-Machined Covers: Precision engineered in the UK and finished in a classic, deep Nickel plating.
-
Alnico 5 Magnets: Custom-made 1/4″ Alnico 5 magnets, sourced from UK specialists.
-
Custom Poles: Choose between the iconic Black Hex Poles or the sleek Blade Pole look to suit your aesthetic.
Fitment & Installation
