58-64 “Vintage Hot Bridge” Jazzmaster Pickup Set

Authentic 60s Soul, Calibrated for the Modern Stage

The Foundation of the Offset Sound

Before boutique pickups were a “thing,” there was a problem: nobody was making decent replacements for the Jazzmaster. If you wanted a better tone, you had to roll up your sleeves and build it yourself.

This set is a direct descendant of those early experiments—meticulously refined and based on the exact specs of the vintage Jazzmasters in my personal collection. Quite possibly the most detailed reproductions currently on the market, we aren’t just chasing a look; we are capturing the response, materials, and character of the golden era with obsessive accuracy.

The Sound of Experience

If you’re tired of “Jazzmaster” pickups that are just Stratocaster coils hiding in a bigger box, these are for you. We’ve stayed true to the wide, flat coil geometry that gives the Jazzmaster its unique voice—that perfect balance of punchy lows, complex mids, and a top-end that sparkles without ever being piercing.

By using Alnico 5 magnets and 42AWG Plain Enamel wire, we’ve captured the “lived-in” feel of a 60s original. They are touch-sensitive, resonant, and have just enough output to drive a tube amp while maintaining that classic offset “breathiness.”

Perfect Fit, Enhanced Performance

Designed as a vintage-sized, drop-in replacement, these pickups will fit any standard Jazzmaster rout without the need for modification. While the soul is vintage, the balance has been perfected. This set features an overwound bridge to ensure your lead lines have the authority they deserve:

  • Neck (8.3K): Thick, woody, and articulate—perfect for everything from smoky jazz to ambient shoegaze textures.

  • Bridge (9.5K): The “Vintage Hot” heart of the set. We’ve added just enough extra “meat” to ensure your bridge position cuts through the mix with extra punch, without losing that essential 60s chime.

Player’s Note: This set is RWRP (Reverse Polarity). This allows for full hum-cancelling in the middle position—a crucial feature for Jazzmaster players working with high-gain pedals or under noisy stage lights.

The Setup: Pot & Cap Recommendations

To get the most out of your 58-64 set, we recommend the following wiring configurations:

  • For Vintage Chime: Pair with 1Meg pots to retain that classic, high-fidelity Jazzmaster “snap” and shimmer.

  • For a Smoother Response: If you want to tame the “Hot” bridge and add more midrange focus, 500k pots work beautifully to mellow out the top end.

Whether you’re restoring a vintage gem or giving a modern reissue the soul it’s currently missing, this set brings the authentic, historical character that only a player-designed pickup can offer.
